Invite Me (Virtually) To Your Next Perl Meetup

Earlier this week I gave a presentation to the Boston Perl Mongers via Google Hangouts. This was the first time that I've done a presentation remotely, but everything worked flawlessly[1].

I would love to do more of these. If your local PM group or team at $work would like to learn more about static analysis with Perl::Critic, or dependency management with Pinto please get in touch with me. I am thaljef@cpan.org.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

[1] Big thanks to Tom Metro for extending the invitation, and Rick ... for handling the technical setup.

I attended (in person) and it did go quite well. One thing to keep in mind (for the hosts) is that you'll need a decent microphone setup to capture questions and comments from the audience. Often the questions had to get relayed through the person closest to the microphone, and give-and-take with the remote speaker wasn't always successful because of the delay (or because the remote speaker was unaware of a comment and moved on to another topic).

All in all, though it was a great presentation. Thanks Jeffrey, Bill Ricker (Rick), and Tom Metro.
