6slang ("slang") works on many levels. One is that it would feel hip for the young folks who want to project grit and edge, likely contributing to broader adoption....

6lang: The Naming Discussion Update
Perl 6 started the design process in 2000, which is before many of these people were even born. So instead of trying to win the race claiming to be the hare, be proud of being the tortoise ;-)

6lang: The Naming Discussion Update
I read '6lang' as 'six-lang', which decomposes nicely to 'slang' in my ears. Of course, 'Slang' proper is already taken as the name of a programming language (as is 'S-Lang').
In the end, I mostly agree with https://blogs.perl.org/users/yuki_kimoto/2017/10/6lang-naming-proposal-is-good.html.

Show Perl 6 code to a non-Perl programmer and let him/her decide. He/She will definitely answer "it's Perl".

Could be x-lang (eks-lang). Not so bad, not taken as far as I know.
