    Remember that this award is a Camel, and it's for non-technical achievement.

    I think Perl 6 should have its own award (the "Camelias" or whatever). Someone can arrange to do that through The Perl Foundation just like we do the White Camels.

    Good luck!

    As a previous White Camel Award winner, I hope my opinion that Perl 6 is also Perl and that therefore Perl 6 people can also win a White Camel Award, would be of some value.

    I would like to nominate the following people (and they are not just Perl 6 people), because they have been promoting Perl for quite some years, for instance by (co-) organising events and (online and other) activities, and answering questions (technical and/or about the community), or contributing to marketing:
    * Dan Wright
    * Curtis Poe (aka Ovid)
    * Mark Keating
    * Tom Browder
    * Jo…

    My understanding was this award is for “the” Perl community so I’m surprised to see Perl 5/6 discussion here. In my view we have only one Perl community and it can’t be divisible. For example Jim Keenan, my good friend and a former award recipient, is leading New York City Perl community both in Perl 5 and 6.

    Anyway I started conversation with the TPF board about it so we can get clarification.

    (I am a board member of the TPF board but obviously this comment does not reflect TPF’s view)

    I second the nomination for Dan Wright.
