The first meeting of the newly-elected group.
We did some initial handover tasks (github groups, mailing lists)
We intend to do some point releases for 5.44 and 5.42 to include some security fixes and build issue bugfixes. We will take suggestions on what other fixes to be included.
We began discussing ideas on what it would look like to support the idea of local::lib and similar techniques better by perl core itself, handling perl version upgrades and so on.
We discussed improving the dual-life module release process to make it easier and prevent mistakes.

All of us were present.
- We merged one more small fix during triage. Everything else in RC2 looks good.
- The majority of our time went into discussing and editing a draft LLM policy based on the feedback so far from the core team. We will create a PR for it in the next days.
- Leon will be releasing 5.44.0 this week.
- Paul volunteers to be release manager for the subsequent 5.45.1 which may be much sooner than the usual “one per month”, because there are a lot of changes already queued up and we have two months of slipped time to catch up with.

All three of us showed up to a shorter meeting that dealt entirely with triage. Last week’s new blocker was resolved in the meantime, but we had a few new small ones show up, which we merged fixes for. The last-minute IO::Compress release has needed some oopsie fixes. Another release candidate is inevitable and will be shipping this week.

- A new blocker appeared. It is only just impactful enough to register, but unfortunately not negligible enough to ignore. We will attempt a resolution before we consider other options.
- There has been some more activity in the LLM policy discussion, where we didn’t get around to posting our thoughts last week. We will rectify that.
