Commented on Ward Cunningham on Perl: fast to develop, fast to run, insightful
Everyone would do well to listen to Randal's interview with Ward: http://twit.tv/show/floss-weekly/27 I didn't realize the first wiki was written in Perl. Cool. My favorite wiki, ikiwiki, is written in Perl too: http://ikiwiki.info...

Posted Perl dropped and Go adopted due to concurrency issues in baconbird to Philip Durbin
A little part of my Perl soul died the other day when I read a tweet by Mark Jason Dominus:

Posted John Siracusa discusses Perl on Hypercritical to Philip Durbin
In episode #15 of Hypercritical, John Siracusa presented Perl in (largely) a very positive light to what I assume is mostly a non-Perl audience.

Announce: WWW::Scraper::Wikipedia::ISO3166
philip@here&now:
Good question. We use subcountry to avoid having to write state/province/region/department/parish/and/twenty/other/words.
See the 3rd column in this page for gory details.
And using a single word instead of 2 (more words) quickly becomes the norm.
Cheers
