I hate to be a downer, but you really have about 35 users so far. This is one the things I really hate about ACT. People can "register" without actually register.
When you create an act account, there's a separate step to "join" the conference by clicking on a button. This is totally separate from actually *paying* for the conference, but it's a necessary first step.
So when you look at the attendee stats it shows two numbers. The larger number is the number of people who've "joined" the conference (your 156). The smaller number is the number of people who have committed to coming. You can commit either by paying or by having a confirmed talk.
When I used ACT for my animal advocacy group's conference I edited these templates to only show the committed number, since that's the only one that catually has any meaning.
I highly recommend you email everyone who's joined but not committed and remind them to pay. This might be something you do two or three times before the registration deadline.
Thanks autarch, that's excellent feedback.
Additionally we've had registration enabled for about a month, but purchasing for only a few days, exacerbating that problem.
I've added three tasks to our planning system to send reminder emails 2/28, 3/31, and 4/23.
I've added a task to prod us to review how we present the numbers mid March, a couple weeks after the first email reminder.
The planning group discussed this with organizers of previous yapcnas. The conclusion is that we'll watch the numbers and may send reminders nearer to the conference date.
