Anyone else get personal URL from Google Plus?
Back in about September Google Plus send me an email offering:
as my entry point into Google Plus. I.e.: That visible text is all I need to type into Chrome or FF.
Also, you can use this text (instead of your long Google id digit string) when indicating you're a contributor to MetaCPAN, etc.
So, did anyone else get such an offer?
I got offered one too, but it made me choose some additional characters on the end, so it became: https://plus.google.com/+JoelBergerPhD
Hi Joel
Hmm. I don't have a PhD. But that doesn't mean I have URL-envy :-).
Meh.
.htaccess:
RedirectMatch ^/\+(.*)$ http://plus.google.com/117873698349085087387$1
http://balker.dk/+
On about the first week of G+'s launch, I created myself a named personal URL redirector at http://go.leonerd.org.uk/+ which I've used ever since.
Thanx for the replies, but I didn't ask for the technical mechanism(s), I asked for info about the people approached. I.e. I'm wondering why we were selected...
Yup: https://plus.google.com/+CraigTreptow
