Monthly Report - November

I would like to dedicate November 2018 to the London Perl Workshop 2018. The main focus was LPW, being member of LPW Organizers. Lots of preparation went in the background to make it such a successful event. Kudos to all fellow members, community members and sponsors.

Two things are common in every monthly report and I can't live without it. One, submitting Pull Request as many as possible and second daily uploads to CPAN, as of today, 1st December 2018, is the 468th day non-stop. Post LPW event, I blogged about my experience as usual but I also talked about new ideas we (Ferguson, Rick and I) discussed. Since nothing has been finalized, it is not fair to talk about it. Just to give an idea, we talk about how to bring in more people into the Perl fold, specially school and college levels.

With regard to the Pull Request, after the success of Hacktoberfest Challenge, it was really hard, nearly impossible, to beat the record of 155 Pull Request in a month. As I always believe, it is not about how many PR submitted rather how many accepted and merged. As of today overall success rate is nearly 70%. Am I happy with the success? Yes and No, Yes because it took nearly one year to get to 70%, started with 50% in the beginning of year 2018 and No because it is still a long way to reach the target of 90%. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person for accepting my PR and kind words.

Apart from the regular stuff, there was one another thing that kept me busy was "Perl Advent Calendar". It reminds me the time when there used to just handful of "Advent Calendar". This time, I have seen so many actively worked on. I decided to be part of one such. I submitted 3 proposals for "Perl Advent Calendar 2018", so that at least one of them gets approved and selected. To my surprise, all 3 got selected, thanks Mark Fowler. It was fun writing for "Perl Advent Calendar". However I could only complete 2 of them. Hopefully it would show up one day here.

Let's take a quick look through.
