    What a task, I have to take it into my link list. But I saw no topic 'Graphics'. And some sorting flags (by latest release, stars, etc) would be nice....
  • Commented on Ideas for the CPAN Meta v3 Specification
    All fine, but what I need most in Metacpan is a navigation by topic/content....

  • Commented on Who tests the tester? Me !!!
    Its here: https://github.com/lichtkind/Graphics-Toolkit-Color/blob/main/lib/Graphics/Toolkit/Color/Space/Instance/DCIP3.pm Well the reason why I abandoned inheritance and thus also base classes is because it introduces unnecessary friction on two ends: 1. You can not look into a class and know what is going, you have to...

  • Commented on Who tests the tester? Me !!!
    If it works for you, good, but one of the reason why i started GTC is to show how its done more elegantly without inheritance. I strongly believe we have not yet found what object are capable since some techniques...

  • Commented on Graphics::Toolkit::Color 2.0 feature overview
    Performance is not a topic i am concerned (yet) and I know its not the fastest module. Just fast enough for normal usage and since there are no dependencies, we do fine. but on the other side the hardest math...
  • Commented on Graphics::Toolkit::Color 2.0 feature overview
    Thank You! I did not know PDL::Transform::Color and added it into the =See Also section. It has a lot of functionality i miss and partially want to add. The module seems to cover a lot what is called color science...
  • Posted Graphics::Toolkit::Color 2.0 feature overview to lichtkind

    Finally - GTC 2.0, an all in one color library, is released ! This post will not be rehash (of) the (very) fine manual, but give you a sense what you can achieve with this software and why it is better than any other lib of that sort…

  • Posted new GTC Architecture to lichtkind

    Graphic::Toolkit::Color 1.9 brought several big new features which I will write about when 2.0 comes out - just to sum up what changed since 1.0. This time I want to describe the internal changes, since this release completed an…

  • Commented on Remembering Matt Trout
    I knew him IRL and he did actually listen. Yes he could be erratic at times, but there is no need to be mean now. Just recheck CPAN to see his output, DBIx::Class, Moose and Catalyst, which yes he did...

    There is actually a native tuple type in Perl. It is used for the instances of classes defined by the new class keyword. Apart from that, the runtime doesn't expose any keywords/operators/etc for creating and manipulating tuples, but you can do so in XS code.

    Hi lichtkind
    Actually that's what I deliver with my Perl.Wiki. I invented 200 topics into which I classify (currently) 4859 modules....
    See my Wiki Haven.

  • Ron Savage commented on Ideas for the CPAN Meta v3 Specification

    Firstly, in TiddlyWikis topic names are CamelCase, otherwise as [[RSS]] (displayed as RSS).

    The graphs topic in the MainMenu is called Graphs, and it links to ChartingAndPlotting.

  • Ron Savage commented on Ideas for the CPAN Meta v3 Specification

    If I even automate the transfer of details from https://metacpan.org/recent to Perl.Wiki, then release dates & authorship might be included.

    Stars...Hmmm. Maybe, but they are quite subjective. And anyway, a recent module which is brilliant would have no stars.
    Eg: Geo::Leaflet.

    Sorting flags...Hmmm.

  • john napiorkowski commented on Ideas for the CPAN Meta v3 Specification

    Seems like a lot of fields, what makes the proposer of this think that open source devs working on their spare time is going to spend precious free hours of this time on some of these things? We can’t even get CPAN authors to digitally sign distributions, which would actually be useful and that been around at least 20 years.

    I would say you have to build a case that devs need to spend the time on this. From a look over a good amount of this is being driven by that EU rule that not all of us are acknowledging as valid. Just on that alone I’m personally dubious.
